How It All Started
This journey began in a very personal place.
I was simply done with store-bought bread—the kind filled with preservatives and ingredients I couldn’t even pronounce. It didn’t nourish my body, and more importantly, it didn’t nourish my family the way I wanted it to. I knew there had to be a better way.
So I started learning Sourdough.
What began as a simple desire to make healthier choices turned into a hobby—something new to learn, something that felt wholesome and life-giving. Sourdough became my creative outlet, a quiet rhythm amid my busy life as a full-time lifestyle photographer.
At the time, it was never meant to be more than that—a hobby.
But sometimes, God works through the patterns in our lives.
As a photographer here in Arizona, I've always found my summers slow. Year after year, the heat creates a natural pause in my business, and I find myself searching for ways to continue working while still serving others during these slower months.
During one of those seasons, I felt a gentle but persistent nudge in my heart. I had already been praying about how I could serve my community in a deeper, more meaningful way.
And that’s when it came together.
What better way to serve than through something as simple and meaningful as bread?
We are called to gather, to share, and to break bread together daily—to create space for connection, nourishment, and community. What started in my own kitchen became something I felt called to share with others.
With open hands and a willing heart, I stepped into this new venture—not just as a baker, but as someone called to serve.
This cottage bakery is more than a business. It’s a reflection of faith, family, and a passion for creating something real, nourishing, and meant to be shared.
Thank you for being part of this journey—and for breaking bread with me.

Our Mission & Values
At Breaking Bread Cottage Bakery, we believe that good bread is more than just ingredients; it's an opportunity to nourish, gather, and serve others. I am grateful to be able to use quality, wholesome ingredients, including organic flours, to prepare my baked goods and breads, and to honor traditional sourdough methods that value patience, simplicity, and care.
What began as a love for baking has grown into a passion for sharing handcrafted bread and baked goods with my neighbors and community. Through slow fermentation, small-batch baking, and thoughtful craftsmanship, we strive to create food that is both flavorful and meaningful.
We believe some of life's sweetest moments happen around the table. Whether it's a family meal, a gathering with friends, or a quiet morning at home, it's a privilege to provide simple, honest food that helps bring people together.
Baked with intention. Shared with gratitude.
